The
Windward House in wonderful Cape May, NJ is a gracious Edwardian style
seaside Bed and Breakfast inn with a tradition of hospitality and comfort
for over 30 years. This restored inn is located in the heart of the historic
district on Jackson Street, the oldest street in Cape May. It was built
during a period when rooms were large, spacious and airy. To capture the
summer sun and shade, this comfortable inn has three porches - a wraparound
front porch filled with wicker, a second floor porch which is private
to two special guest rooms and a third floor sundeck.
Through
the years, Windward House has always entertained family and friends. We
want you, our guests, to feel as comfortable and relaxed as you would
in your own home. We strive to ensure your privacy just as we do our own.
Windward House is close to most things: the beach is one half block down
the street, the mall is one half block up the street and most of Cape
May's restaurants and tour sites are within walking distance.
Special Features:
"The entry way and staircase are perhaps the prettiest in town."
NJ Monthly
Windward
House contains one of Cape May 's finest collections of stained and beveled
glass visible as soon as you cross the threshold. Marvelous doors and
paneling of oak and chestnut are complemented by rooms filled with museum
quality antiques and the owners' special displays. Sandy's china and glass
displays and Owen's bisque bathing beauties are just some of many collections
seen throughout the house.
All guest rooms have antique queen size or king size bed sets replicating
the comfort and luxury the Victorians loved in their bedrooms.
Cape May, a national historic landmark is truly a year - round resort, offering
a wide variety of attractions throughout the year - beaches, shops, fine
restaurants, boating, fishing, bicycling - also, historic tours and special
events.
Christmas
